Review
Remembrance
by Michelle Madow

The author:
Michelle Madow was inspired to write Remembrance after seeing Taylor Swift's "Love Story" music video while a junior at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL. The song and video gave her the story idea about a high school girl reincarnated from Regency Era, England. She handed in the first chapter as a homework assignment for class, and when her teacher and fellow classmates wanted her to continue writing, she decided to go for it. By the end of the school year, her first novel was completed!
In the summer between Michelle's junior and senior years of college, she traveled to New York City to present her novel to literary agents at an event sponsored by Writer’s Digest. There she met AAR agent Christine Witthohn of Book Cents Literary Agency, who signed her at the start of her senior year of college.
Along with the Transcend Time Saga, Michelle Madow has written two other young adult novels, both which will be developed into series’.
Michelle lives in Florida, where she is hard at work writing more novels for young adults.

First sentence:
It was at the Halloween dance that I got the first glimpse of my past life.

Summary:
Lizzie Davenport has been reincarnated from Regency Era, England ... but she doesn't know it yet.
Then Drew Carmichael transfers into Lizzie's high school at the beginning of the year, and she feels a connection to him, almost like she knows him. She can't stop thinking about him, but whenever she tries talking with him about the mysteries behind her feelings, he makes it clear that he wants nothing to do with her. Reaching him is even more difficult because she has a boyfriend, Jeremy, who has started to become full of himself after being elected co-captain of the varsity soccer team, and her flirtatious best friend Chelsea starts dating Drew soon after his arrival. So why can't she get him out of her mind?
Even though Lizzie knows she should let go of her fascination with Drew, fighting fate isn't going to be easy.

My opinion:
I read some wonderful book reviews about Remembrance and each time I thought that I should buy this book because it sounded like an awesome read. I love time travel and reincarnation stories. They always provoke a feeling of eternity in me. Just love the idea of getting second chances.

I bought this novel for my Kindle and started reading it right away. After the first sentence I was hooked! Beforehand I discovered Michelle’s blog and found out that she was inspired to write this book after seeing Taylor Swift’s music video to her song “Love Story” which I love since watching the movie “Letters to Juliet”.
I was so excited to start reading this novel and I wasn’t disappointed. I loved it from front to back and it ended way too soon. It is a wonderful teenage love story full of emotions, drawbacks, schemes, break ups, everyday teenage problems, friendships and relationships.

The story is wonderfully told and Michelle has an amazing style of writing. She was able to bring the scenes alive before my inner eye. I can highly recommend this novel but don’t start it on a Monday evening; especially when you have to work on the next day. It nearly killed me that I had to stop during the book. If I had been able to do so I would have read it all in one go.

Remembrance is the first novel in the Transcend Time Saga. Vengeance, the follow up short story is titled as Transcend Time #1.5 and is told from Chelsea’s point of view. The last book of the series will be published at the end of 2012 (I am sure I read it somewhere but wasn’t able to find the source again).

Remembrance is available at Amazon for your Kindle for $1,17/ EUR 0,89/ £0,77. Michelle is on a book tour right until April and these are her special tour prices. So be sure to buy your copy now.

Because Michelle was inspired by Taylor Swift’s song “Love Story” she sent her a signed copy of her book with a letter telling her about the inspiration her song gave her. She hasn’t heard back from Taylor Swift and she asked for the help of us book lovers. The goal is to get Taylor Swift to Tweet about Remembrance. You can read all about it and sign up for a giveaway here.
